Remove the battery for a couple of minutes, then replace it. Push and hold the volume down button, and then press the power button. This will put you into bootloader mode. Now connect the usb cable to your laptop and flash back to your factory "shipped" rom. Afterwards, you should be able to flash to your custom rom of choice.

edit: Here's a link to the Sprint "shipped" rom, if you don't have it.

I've never flashed through bootloader with PC before.
What is necessary on the PC side for the bootloader route to work? Do I need to be running RUU or something?

Yes ... after putting your phone into bootloader, then connect it to your computer via the usb cable. Then just flash in the normal way ... open the file and click away.

Flashing from the bootloader is actually faster than using active sync, by faster I mean that you just connect it to the pc and its ready to flash right away.
