Re: WMDC doesn't recogniz my Diamond.
There are a couple of other threads on here where folks have had their USB port go bad, same symptoms as yours where the phone will charge but not be recognized. As yet it doesn't appear anyone has gotten a good resolution, unfortunately.

Re: WMDC doesn't recogniz my Diamond.
Judging by the lack of response I assume that very few have any idea what to do with this..
I'm still working though and I've got the PC to see that there is a device connected. However, it doesn't recognize this as my HTC Diamond as it should. If I have the phone connected to the PC and then run the "drvupdate-amd64" file, i notice that the driver software installation box pops up and finds that i have an "Unidentified device" and it searches and searches with no luck. This is the only way I can get the PC to remotely acknowledge my phone is connected. I've been searching for the activesync.cab file but can't find it anywhere. I thought maybe reinstalling this on the phone may help. Anyone think this would be worth a try? |

Re: WMDC doesn't recogniz my Diamond.
I had a problem like this. Turned out that the Diamond was locked in disk drive instead of Active Sync mode. Start Active Sync on the Diamond side before you plugg-in the cable and make sure you get the prompt to select ASync or Disk Drive on the Diamond after plugging in the cable. Select ASync.

Re: WMDC doesn't recogniz my Diamond.
That reminds me. I remember this phone used to have that pop up box when I plugged it in. I turned off that setting in "USB to PC"
Even when turned on though it doesn't pop up. And i've set it manually to Activesync with the enhanced mode disabled. |
