ActiveSync only connecting as guest

I was having an issue with my phone where it wasn't being detected by my PC. Turned out that the charging port was bad and it was replaced with a new phone. AS will now connect but only as a guest. I've tried deleting and reinstalling AS on my PC but still nothing changes. There are no relationships set up so I have nothing to delete. Any ideas?

Start > settings > system > About > Device ID and then change the name of the device to whatever the name of your last one was. That's the only thing I can think of...

Open Device Manager and delete the driver.

Re: ActiveSync only connecting as guest

Woot I figured it out. There's a registry setting on my PC for "guest only" and it was set to 1. I changed the value to 0 and it's working now.

Thanks for the replies.

In case someone Googles this thread, what is the registry key you changed?
