This is his actual quote, which implies something vastly different than what you stated..

BTW OP, next time you get a new phone, get the warranty through squaretrade. not only are they cheaper, but their service is waaaaay better
I realized that it was out of context and then changed it because I realized I was wrong, thats what the edit button is for. I'm done with this. I gave the best and most accurate advice you're gonna get...peace.

Re: brick phone

haha, soooo I just updated to the newest sprint ROM released by HTC, and for some reason the device gets stuck on the part where you are supposed to tap the screen and align it, so i'm going to head over there and see if they can get around it, hopefully they can't and this gets me a new phone

Re: brick phone

Why not just go to a Sprint store that is different from the one you have been dealing with?

Re: brick phone

b/c the closest place is incompetent, and the 2nd closest doesn't ever want to replace them. But again, they probably won't replace it b/c of a screen issue, they aren't going to beleive me when I say it cracked b/c of heat, + i'm not supposed to be tethering really, so i'd rather just walk in there with an issue with the phone and get it replaced.

The phone fixed itself, just need a min. to finish booting.

So, I have tried everything, Everytime I try to flash a GSM rom it says it isn't supported by my phone, now my phone is locked right now (i relocked it). Do I need to unlock it and then try to flash to a GSM rom ? I have tried both cooked GSM and CDMA roms while it's locked, and official HTC gsm roms... nothing bricks it!

the entire concept of unlocking is to be able to flash cooked roms. If its not unlocked, its not going let you flash ANYTHING other than official roms. unlock it, flash a gsm, get a new phone.

Re: brick phone

Wow..Sounds like a hassle.

My 11 month-old Diamond developed the no-vibrate problem a few weeks ago. I called Sprint at 11 PM one Friday night to see what they would do, the guy on the other end asked me if I wanted to take it in or just have them send out a new (refurb) one. Naturally, I chose the new one. Anyway, I had the new phone the following Monday before noon.

Now, I know I was under warranty, but the person on the other end could've made me bring the phone in.

So, if you don't like what you're told, go to someone else. It can make all the difference in the world.

Re: brick phone

It's really odd, I've had the Phone insurance since I owned the LG Fusic. My phone did have some issues and I got new phones like crazy (Like 4 of them over a few week period because the used refurbs are almost always junk, I did get upgraded to a Musiq that was pretty sweet). Needless to say they never gave me a lick of trouble. Maybe try a different service center.

Re: brick phone

call customer service and have them ship a replacement to your home, i do it most of the time when i don't wanna argue with the in-store people.
