load stock rom before custom rom

Hi I am running energy rom which I love but want to try another rom. I've read that some people reflash to a stock rom {for me alltel} before reflashing a new custom rom. Is that nessesary.....thanks

Yes it is. Especially with the 6.5 roms.

I think more importantly hard reset after you flash, but do a combination of both to avoid any potential problems.

For some reason flashing shipped before a different 6.5 ROM seems to alleviate much problems that come with changing to 6.5. It seems that if you don't it likes to randomly hard reset when you soft reset.

I agree. I tend to flash back to the stock ROM before switching to a different custom ROM.
