thinking of switching to diamond

hi there, i currently use a touch pro, and i am on number 5 for replacements and alltel has offered me any phone they have under their lemon policy. I am thinking of going to the diamond since its close to the same phone as my touch pro except the microsd slot/keyboard (or so i understand) so what im asking from you, the diamond owners. do you think i would be happy with the switch or should i just keep getting the touch pro with the hope of getting one with a keyboard that will keep working. TIA for any opinions

If you do get the Diamond, you should try to get the Alltel Diamond and not the Verizon Diamond, which people hate. Alltel was just bought by Verizon.

Re: thinking of switching to diamond

I like my diamond, but i liked my vogue better. Never used a touch pro, as i have no need for a hardware keyboard.

If you have trouble using on screen keyboards then i would NOT suggest the diamond.

Any chance you could wait it out a little bit? its the TP2 around the corner?

Re: thinking of switching to diamond

I have a brand new Verizon Diamond that I had bought to test with basically to build roms and custom taskbar. I later found that the phone cannot be unlocked. We are using as a test phone here at work just testing an application and in playing with it it seems to run just fine speed wise. My personal Device is the Touch Pro and I think that the Diamond feels like a more solid device physically. I would not compare the 2 based on perfomance because of the ROMs. I hope this helps if you have any other questions please let me know I have both devices with me at all times and I can answer any question you have.

Re: thinking of switching to diamond

I really like my Diamond.
I am running the stock ROM, the latest version which is much improved over the original ROM.
Never had a Pro but I don't think you will be disappointed with the Diamond.
My carrier is Sprint, but as was said before, Verizon ties up the Diamond from being customized as much as it can be.
Also, if you really need a physical keyboard, you won't like the Diamond.
But I assume from your interest in the Diamond, that it is not the most important feature for you.
