Re: HELP: Water Damage Indicator

I used invisible tape, and i cut out a piece of paper the size of the water indicated and stuck it to the tape... then I stuck it to the phone... that way it wont damage the indicator.

There might be a very confused Tech... when the internal indicator is RED, but the external one is ok hahha...

I wouldnt worry too much if the external one is RED, aslong as the inside one is not tripped... but I guess theres no way to tell...

Re: HELP: Water Damage Indicator

Ok, this is semi related... I just got my Vogue last month, and when I got it, a little white sticker up on the top left says void and another down bottom has visible red cross hatches. Does that mean I'll be screwed if it needs replaced? I haven't gotten it wet at all, it came like that.

Water Mark stickers do have red cross hatch lines that are light in color.
Is your sticker a dark red?
The void sticker is also an issue.
I would say Yes to your question

Re: HELP: Water Damage Indicator

No, it's not dark red, they're light red cross hatch lines. I guess I'm not really too worried about it because I've never had to replace a phone, and this phone WAS free anyways. But it has to last me the next 2 years, or I have to go back to my crappy RAZR V3m.

Just in case, is there any way to safely replace them? I know I read something on how to do it for the Razr. I also assume that I got the phone brand new, as it was in new packaging and there were no scratches on it or anything, so what gives?

(It's the xv6900, which with a 2 year contract renewal and buying online, is free)

Re: HELP: Water Damage Indicator

If the hatch lines are light in color, that is normal.
Leads me to believe that the other sticker is fine also due to the fact that this device is NIB but to be sure, maybe someone with an xv6900 can tell you what their stickers look like.

See post #4 regarding the sticker replacement question.
The sticker with "void" on it is a different animal.
I think your device is fine though.
Just check out that void sticker to make sure that is normally like that prior to water damage.
Some devices have internal water mark stickers but I do not know exactly where they are and I don't know if the techs in store check those out. I don't remember the Tech disabling my Diamond except to remove the back cover where the water mark sticker is visible in addition to the one on the battery.
I don't know if the Diamond has a water mark sticker on the inside.
