TTN7 with TTN6 maps

I heard this was supposed to work so I installed the TTN7 cab over (I guess) my working TTN6.
It always says no maps, when I know both US and UK are there... they are working fine for 18 months on my Vogue and have worked fine for the lsat week on my new Touch.

Do the maps need to be located in a different place for TTN7?
I can't get past the 'free download' of 1 city map thing. TTN7 closes, it opens IE on a choose a city page and fails to download the free map.

I reverted to TTN6 for now but I'd like to see the TTN7 benefits lots of folks here and on XDA have described.

TTN = TomTom Navigator.. GPS software.. honestly i dont know if upgrading from 6 to 7 will work.. i believe maps are specific to software.. your probably better off going on torrents and download the TT7 + maps package of around 850MB and do the hack for the software to run on your phone.. all the instructions were in the package.

I have ttn6 maps running with ttn7 u need to reactivate the maps. again for it to work...

I don't ever remember 'activating' the maps in the first place, how would I do that? I never renewed the subscriptions for the tomtom extras and all that, I only ever bought TTN6 and UK & US maps.

Sorry if I didn't make sense Curn71, I do have Diamond now, tomtom used to be on my vogue untill I lost it and got a diamond replacement.

Maybe I'll just stick with TTN6, it's sooo much clearer on the VGA, it's like a new version of tomtom anyway... almost.

Your license only covers activation on one device.

Officially yes but they have been known to re-activate only once more as a courtesy (if you get someone nice to help you). just sayin

well the OP was told to go somewhere else for it, and the OP was looking for help for legit purchased software
