email sound gone

I am running 4r3born and the notification sound for email has suddenly stopped working any ideas why?
I have tried selecting many different sounds and still nothing, the sound still works for text and rings just not for email. i even deleted the email account and set up a new one, still nothing.
Any advice would be appreciated

not sure if you checked this yet, but go to volume settings, and make sure System settings are turned on. Sometimes ringer is turned up but system is off. hit the volume key on the side of the device bringing up the volume control. the System control should be the top left, tap this and see if it turned up.
