Touchflo won't load, Cannot connect to activesync!

As above:

I've been using mightyrom for the past few months with no problems. About a week ago, the phone started slowing down considerably (lagging alot) so I would reset it.

It has gotten to the point where I need to reset it 1-2 times a day. Tonight at supper I reset it (stylus in the reset button with the battery cover off) and when it restarted, it would not load the touchflo setup and still runs very slow!

I thought I would try reflashing to the new rom (I think I'm on 4.6 or 4.8 how do I check?) but when I connected the phone to the pc so I could backup my contacts to activesync, the connection couldn't be established!

What should I do!?!?

EDIT: The computer recognizes that something has been connected (the phone) and the diamond asks if I want to use activesync, but then nothing happens. Activesync tries to connect but cant still.

Re: Touchflo won't load, Cannot connect to activesync!

I think reflashing sounds like a good idea. If you cannot establish a connection via activesync, then you can flash from the bootloader. To enter the boot loader on teh diamond, hold down the 'volume down' key and the 'power' key at the same time while pressing the reset button on the back using the sylus. Once you are in teh bootloader screen (tri-color: red, green, blue) plug your device into the computer and flash as normal.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Touchflo won't load, Cannot connect to activesync!

I did some reading via google and it sounded like swapping USB cables worked. I was using the oem htc usb cable this evening but swapped cables and tried syncing again. . .

and it worked.

I'm going to flash to mighty rom reborn and see how that goes. Thanks for the bootloader and flashing instructions.

Re: Touchflo won't load, Cannot connect to activesync!

It has happened again today. The phone is VERY laggy (will take up to 10 seconds to load the start menu even) and its having trouble connecting to activesync again today.

Any ideas?

Open up DotFred's Task Manager and see what processes are running. Can you post the list here? You may try closing a few things to see if you can narrow it down.

I will try that. I was hoping to backup my contacts and other stuff again but I've had enough. I will hard reset now and see how things go.

Re: Touchflo won't load, Cannot connect to activesync!

I have successfully hard resetted. Now how do I get my backed-up contacts from the pc back to the phone? It did not do it automatically.

EDIT: argh this is rather embarrassing - the whole pocket PC environment. I did not have contacts selected in the settings. Got my contacts back, now to get back the programs I had before.

Could the latest version of google maps caused this?

I doubt it. Just glad i could help you out. If you still have problems re-flash your rom. (assuming activesync works now)

Don't forget to hit the thanks button.

Let me know if you still need help with anything
