Re: Sprint - HTC phones not ringing (straight to vm)

Well I set both my sci and accolc to the lowest even the accolc , every phone I get.

I even work on the fringes of service with a pretty weak radio and still don't have any problem with getting calls, even when I break up for people listening, my phone still rings.
It sounds like you've done most everything and you are getting 80-90db which is decent.

If you've done all of this and tried different radios, maybe you just have a bad/weak radio hardware, there has to be random bad or weaker ones, if you have TEP just do a swap.

Some roms have a Setting enabled to switch between 1X and Evdo or Hybrid....the setting is under Start/settings/phone/service/mode of operation/get settings

If that is not there it can be enabled by doing a reg edit
Go to HKLM/software/oem/phonesetting there is a Key, change HiddenModeOperationPage value to 0

The setting should now be visible, don't need to softreset even.

1. are u having a problem or not?
2. are ur msid and mdn the same or different?
3. did you have your number ported when u signed up with your cdma carrier?
4. is your problem missing calls all together or are does it ring 2-3 times and then when u pick-up no one is there? or both?
5. does anyone notice the problem occuring more/less when the originator of the incoming call is based on a gsm/cdma network? how about a landline?

Re: Sprint - HTC phones not ringing (straight to vm)

1. Was having problem, seems that with the Verizon Radio i'm fixed about 99% of the time.
2. My MSID AND MDN are different.
3. I had t-mobile (GSM) and ported to Sprint
4. It does not ring at all.
5. Funny that you mention this. At my college i had all my friends from different numbers call me, and it seemed that with i believe T-mobile (maybe ATT) it would work the worst, almost always the calls wouldn't come in. My friend had to try calling (at least this is what he said) about 20 times for it to ring once on my end.

Now that we present the facts, it makes me think. Is anyone else having problems that ported their number. Maybe somehow the ported numbers somehow get screwed up.

Re: Sprint - HTC phones not ringing (straight to vm)

I ported my number as well... from Helio (they lease the Sprint network i believe)... it's bee a while though.

I've been testing with a landline phone (ip phone actually from work).. it works about 80%.

Installed the Verizon radio... seems like reception is in fact better for me 80-90dbm... and 6-10db... but the problem still happens.

Yes, to be clear my phone doesn't ring at ALL! There's no way to answer cuz it just sits there like nothing is happening for about 10%-20% of my incoming calls.

Re: Sprint - HTC phones not ringing (straight to vm)

wow, i'm surprised the verizon radio rom didnt work for you. That seems to solve my problem. Do one thing, just try updaing the prl and update profile in your phone. prob won't do anything, but something to give a shot espically since your updated your radio. I know your frustration tho. I was loosing my mind when people would call me and nothing would happen on my end. I ported over from t-mobile. I'm curious to know since me and you are both ports if it's a problem with sprint porting the number over.

Hey heres a couple things to try/think about:

first see if you can get some of your family/friends to call your phone about 10x. And see how many times it comes through. See if you can do this with all different carriers, other sprint phones verizon, att, tmobile. See if any of them in particular have more problems than others.

second, as much as id hate to say it, but call up sprint and talk to a tech. See if he knows anything or can shed some light on the matter. They told me that most likely my phone was the problem when this is my second phone having the same issue. Best thing they can do is just refresh your account just to make sure theres no problems.

Last, try all 5 or 6 different roms and do the same step as in the first step. Test it against other different carriers and see whats the results like. For me the verizon one seemed to somewhat fix my problem. For you, maybe it's the Telus or newest Sprint radio. I know that theres the sprint 1.11 and theres even the newst sprint radio something like 1.17 (not sure if thats exactly the version, but its out there) All of the sprints and telus radios would give me the problems, but for some reason the verizon somewhat fixed my problems (or maybe worked around them i dnno)

let me know what happens man.

Re: Sprint - HTC phones not ringing (straight to vm)

So... i called Sprint's "Advanced Tech Support" and they were useless... (totally expected). They did reprogram my account (changed the MSID to some other number) but it didn't do anything.

Then they told me it was the network... but i have a bunch of friends on Sprint that don't have the same issue and the are on the same location... it can't be the Network signal... it's either the phone or my sprint account.

So i was able to get the Protection Plan and just received a new phone... I'll test and see if the new phone has the same problem... [fingers crossed]

Re: Sprint - HTC phones not ringing (straight to vm)

FIXED!!!!! can't believe it but it's OVER!!!

Thanks for all the help everyone who tried =D>

The problem was the phone... I believe it had a defective radio and it wouldn't recognize a few of my incoming calls.

I managed to get a new Diamond and no more missed calls called myself like 80 times already and haven't missed any calls.

So... if anyone else is having the same problem and after trying all the items on the first post still misses calls just get a new phone cuz yours is defective
