Re: Water Damage Indicator

just peel it off, better they question it missing and have to actually LOOK for real water damage, then just using the dummy light.
especially if there is another dry sticker.

Heh that might be an idea...I'll just leave it on, and if something happens to the phone I'll simply take that sticker off.

Re: Water Damage Indicator

I bricked my phone yesterday, My was solid red with a black stripe in the middle. I had to exchange it to sprint. The battery also has the same sticker, I removed it and placed on the phone. Sprint exchanged my phone with no prob's.

Re: Water Damage Indicator

Here's a helpful hint:Remove the sticker from the battery and place it on the Phone. The width is the same so you just have to cut some length with an Exacto knife. I cut mine while still attached to the battery. I also have 3 batteries so removing the sticker from one battery was no big deal as I can replace the battery with one with a sticker if need be.

Re: Water Damage Indicator

As a Sprint repair tech, we don't go by the stickers, or at least, we're not supposed to. I'll actually open up the phone and look for corrosion on the board itself. Stickers can turn just from humidity, rust doesn't lie.

that being said, bringing it into the bathroom while you shower? That WILL do more damage than just the sticker, I see it all the time.

Edit: Oh yeah, taking the sticker off and tampering with it? I'm going to pay MUCH more attention to your phone than if you left it alone. I might find a few things I would have glanced over, my nice guy card goes right out the window.
