Red face Water Damage Indicator

Well today as I removed my battery cover for a reset, I noticed

that the water damage indicator on the very bottom, near the Reset button,

is a nice bright red color. The phone is working fine, and no water damage

has actually happened. I'm worried about this voiding my warranty...if

I take this into a TELUS store, will the be at all understanding? What is the

best course of action in your opinion? Thanks.

Interesting..the one on my battery is white, with red lines.

The one on the bottom has simply turned bright red all over.

They turn Solid red, not black. It happened to mine because of condensation cooling it wth air conditioner.

Mario

Yeah that sounds like what happened to me. I think I may have had it in the

shower room with me or something, and grabbed the phone...

But yes the bottom indicator is a bright solid red.

Re: Water Damage Indicator

Steam will change it if it's in the bathroom with you when you take a hot shower.

You would think so, but I will say that I have taken my Diamond into the shower (yeah, I know) to check a text or two I heard -- and have had it that close to hot water -- and my water indicator near the USB port is still white with red stripes.

Hehe lucky

So think if I took this phone to my TELUS store and told them the truth they could take not of it, and not affect my warranty? That's mainly what I'm worried about..

Re: Water Damage Indicator

if it is solid red then there isn't a thnig you can say that will make them believe you, TRUST me, you might, MAYBE find a rep that believes you but when it gets sent in the ppl that fix it they will reject as a warranty claim, and you can take that to the bank!

Haha true true, it's pretty bad. But I mean, there's absolutely nothing wrong with my phone right now (well I'd remove WinMo 6.5 first, but yeah ) so there clearly was no real damage.

I'm thinking it's best to hop by the TELUS store and just talk em up...unless someone's had any negative experience in this situation?
