Tether with EEEPC?
Hi guys,
I have an Asus eeePC, I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to browse Internet through the Diamond? I'm on MightyROM 4.6. Thanks.

Re: Tether with EEEPC?
It can use either OS, the nix version being a bit cheaper, though most are sold with windows XP.
Tethering with the eee should be no different than any other pc or laptop, unless of course this is a nix box. |

So, I should be able to run it using that USB modem thing? |

Re: Tether with EEEPC?
WM WiFi Router is your friend. No special configuration necessary on your Eee. Not quite as fast as a USB connection, but still broadband level connection.
EDIT: Well, maybe not "no configuration": http://support.wmwifirouter.com/knowledge/KB0805018/ But it will still work well, and no cable required!* *Of course, this program destroys your Diamond battery (since it is simultaneously using 3G and WiFi), so you'll prolly have to plug your phone in to your computer to power it. Re: Tether with EEEPC?
I used to teather to my Acer ONE with windows xp and also vista (installed after) no problems, but does drain the battery and the device heats up as well. Never had any issues with it... I was using WMWIFiRouter as a go between between the diamond and the UMPC

Re: Tether with EEEPC?
Guys, thanks a lot! Without realizing that I have that application, I made this thread. And yes, going to use this application for this purpose. Doesn't make sense doing all the tethering stuff using a cable.
Again'thank you for the help! |

Re: Tether with EEEPC?
Couldn't imagine tethering without a cable unless I had to. Slower speed and huge battery drain!

Re: Tether with EEEPC?
Right. Just install the USB driver (it might be available via apt-get or whatever Xandros uses) and go from there.
