Yes but TouchPal is better for portrait because the buttons are huge.

Gyrator2 is amazing software that can do this for you.

The HTC keyboard automatically switches to QWERTY in landscape already, so all you really need is to have auto rotation using Gyrator. You could setup a rule that only autorotates in certain apps (Inbox/SMS for example).

The stock does not have the option for compact qwerty in landscape mode, unlike the Vogue.

Gyrator is a really balls-out type of awesome. It works flawlessly and also takes the role of stylus alarm too. I love that you can set your own rules as well.
