nav wheel problems

hmm just today i notice my nav wheel (the heat sensative thing) was being funny. i havnt used it in a while though. but it doesnt resspond hardly and when it does its fidgety, going in random directions. i tried using it to zoom in opera and to scroll contacts. i didnt see one thing about it,anyone seen this
