alltel diamond internet

Ok I have a sprint diamond activated on my alltel account. I'm running the mighty rom. I use wifi router 0.91. I can use wifi router no problem. when wifi router is off and i try to use the internet connection on my phone (opera browser, download weather, music streaming, ect it will not work. I get a connection error. Any Ideas. I've searched but found nothing on this problem.
