After you installed the program, did you go to it, and "register" it?

edit** well it messed up the phone again and will not boot i will hard reset it again thanks anyways
I had to hard reset mine when I tried this before. It's weird because I could swear that it did work once, maybe on a different ROM

Do yourself a favor and use SIP change!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...48&postcount=1

Be sure and set the delay to around 40 seconds!

Sorry to anyone who has had issues with changing the default keyboard. I really dislike having to wait the extra 40 seconds every time I reset (sip change), so I found the class ID for the finger friendly keyboard, and put it in the registry ... and I've never had a problem. I did, however, run into problems when I first installed the keyboard. I was trying out different looks (gloss black, red space bar, blue space bar), and attempted to remove/reboot without "unregistering" the keyboard. My device just froze up.

My guess is, that there are really two different issues with all this. The first, is to get the keyboard properly installed, registered, running properly (even though it's not the default). After that has been done, then do the registry edit to make it default. Sorry this got so wordy ... and perhaps no one's even interested ... just thought I'd try to make it all clear. Hope this helps ...

When I was try to edit the registry, I noticed the keyboard has two '}' keys and no '{' keys. This is in portrait mode. Landscape is fine. I hope this hasn't been brought up before. The search engine wont allow me to search for '{'.
