Unhappy windows 7 beta not detecting diamond

Hey guys, i installed windows 7 beta on my computer but the windows mobile device center no longer opens so i cannot sync and backup my contacts or flash!! ive tried reinstalling wmdc as i read on another website but even that didnt work. windows 7 beta works wonderfully other than this problem. its really frustrating. windows 7 is supposed to have device stage but its not implemented in the beta yet. has anyone else had any success with connecting their diamond and syncing with windows 7? i appreciate any help. thanks, ervman1

Works for me. Did you try running WMDC, not just hoping that it would auto-launch it?

uninstall ALL windows mobile software from your computer, then reinstall the driver from microsoft. it is available from the download center.

filename drvupdate-x86.exe

I am running windows 7 build 7000 and this was the fix I used. The software gets corrupt when you perform the update.

edit: the migration during the update from vista -> 7 beta corrupts several registry references for the WMDC you have to uninstall/reinstall to easily correct unless someone has found out how to fix manually.

No problem... I'm a little more savvy with the PC's than with the PPC's lol but I am catching on slowly...

Re: windows 7 beta not detecting diamond

I have not tired syncing via the USB cable in Windows 7, but the bluetooth syncing worked great for me.
