Slow data after Might Rom flash

Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions? It seems like the net has slowed way down, especially while tethering under the same conditions as I was with Juicys last rom.

Re: Slow data after Might Rom flash

That's interesting to note. Out of the box, my Diamond's tethered speeds were noticably slow compared to the Mogul's.

I flashed OMJ's last stable release, and the speed was the same. I then flashed Juicy's next to last release this morning, and WOW, the speed is on par with the Mogul's.

This is using the original shipped radio mind you, and also I tether in the same place al the time, so unless I am really getting great signal or something (the bars are the same though), then there's something in Juicy's ROM that, I don't know, works better than Stock when it comes to tethering.

Re: Slow data after Might Rom flash

Update:
I've narrowed it down to the fact that it only does it while roaming. I used to roam with about the same data connection as sprint but now it seems to only use 1x. In the past, it roamed on alltel. Now, I don't know.

Any suggestions?

? I thought it was always 1x when roaming with data? Then again, the roaming partner up here is Verizon, not sure about Alltel.

Still having this issue after the mighty flash... roaming is 1x. It used to be high speed when I was running juicy.

My data never gets any faster than 500kbps even with EVDO. Have no idea why.

Hello, what company are you with. I am with Sprint and roaming is always 1x. 1x is painfully slow. Unless someone else knows how to roam in ev, that would be your problem.

Re: Slow data after Might Rom flash

Did you clear your memory after you flashed the new rom, that would be the only thing I could think of if it use to work before and doesnt now.

Re: Slow data after Might Rom flash

Well i just tried automatic-b and it appears to be roaming EVDO.

Roam only must force to verizon and auto-b must use alltel?

it depends on your location, number of towers, number of bars etc. If you go to www.dlsreports.com/mspeed it has a link telling you fastest tests and average kbs for carriers. sprint on average is around 500. I get between 500-700 in my house with 2 bars and 750 to 1200 in ev 3-5 bars. fastest ever for me was 1900.
