Auto wake / backlight problem - "attempted to dail #777"

My phone automatically wakes (and wastes battery) when I travel around. I think it's caused by connection issues. I live in the mountainous Seattle area so bad connections are just a fact of life. But everytime it happens my Diamond wakes and sometimes there's an "attempted to dail #777" warning.

Are others having this problem? How can I fix it?

Also, please don't tell me my phone needs to be replaced, because I've done that. And don't tell me to try a custom ROM... done that too.

well there may be a few things to fix that....i also am in a bad reception are at my house....i have set it to roaming only cause my battery would drain quick cause of the constant signal searching and attempt of data connection....one thing if roaming only doesnt work for you....uncheck the box for automatic updates, auto download of weather and email. and any other auto updates for programs you may have.....but the roaming only has fixed that issue for me on juggs rom....thnx juggs for puttin that feature in your rom....if you do decide to use the roaming only feature make sure you do a PRL update.

Did you have the backlight/auto-wake issue? That's really my only concern. I was just pointing out the #777 thing because it might be related.

the diamond will automatically wake up when you pick up a verizon tower when you roam. i have been looking for a way to turn it off, just havn't found one yet. will continue to search and will let you know.

Thanks. You say "Verizon Tower" does this problem have anything to do with using the verizon radio that I have on my Sprint Diamond? I have the latest sprint radio waiting on my computer, but I'm too lazy to deal with another hard reset right now.

no that has nothin to do with it...do u have a data connection?
