Touchscreen durability
This video shows how tough the iPod Touch's screen is, no scratch with a razor blade!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzbxpSwDetk Is Diamond's screen anything like that? If yes, I see no reason to put on a screen protector. |

Re: Touchscreen durability
well, if it's like the pro screen, grrrrrr.. day 1 I had the charger in my coat pocket and after a call, I was in a hurry and put my phone there too.. why oh why did thy put sharp edges on that thing... grrr..
TIP: there is actually a clear plastic protector (under the foggy one) on the face of the charger that works ok for the phone until your shipment arrives (unless you buy those retail.) also I find the touch pro screen more prone to scratch than the mogul (or maybe you just see the tiny ones more with VGA) I know this is a diamond thread, but I believe the screens are the same, and thought I could help.

Re: Touchscreen durability
Sprint diamond actually came with a screen protecter. I didn't known that until I read a review that mentioned it. I looked into the box, didn't see it, then found it on the ground. It was specifically made for diamond, very good quality. Put it on, no side effect on touch and looks like can last forever. Peace of mind.

Re: Touchscreen durability
Obviously, the iPhone/iPod touch screen is going to be more durable (as far as scratches), as it is capacitive and the outer layer is glass. The Diamond/Pro has a resistive touch screen, which has a flexible outer layer (usually some type of plastic) in order to allow contact between the layers of the touch screen. I've had an original iPod touch since it was released without any screen protection, and there's not a single scratch on the screen.

Re: Touchscreen durability
This isn't an apple-bashing thread, he was simply giving us a visual and an example for his question, we're all here to help. Only garbage here on this thread is your rudeness.
