YOu probably know this but I have to ask just in case,

Under Settings<Connections<Usb To PC, do you have Activesync (sync with outlook) checked off? and make sure "Enable faster data synchronation" is NOT checked.

Let us know.

Also try alternating from Disk Drive mode to Activesync mode, and soft reset.

Yes, Activesync is checked the other one is not checked.

I think I have found the problem, but not the solution. The drivers that were attached to this thread, I don't think, are installing completely. The reason for this: I have tried to uninstall them from add/remove programs I get a window that is titled HTC Wireless Modem Driver Installer. At the bottom is states "Start installer to auto setup. Please wait...Done!!! Underneath that are 2 buttons that are greyed out "Install Driver" and Uninstall Driver. The only way to close this window is to click the x, so I can only assume the driver isn't actually installed. Does anyone have the drivers by themselves not a self extracting file.

Your phone should not be connected to the PC when trying to install the file I gave you. Try to uninstall what you did, and use a registry cleaner (CCLeaner has one built in) then restart your Vista machine and install the drivers again (without the phone being connected). They should install fine then.

Edit: Let us know how it goes.

Re: Diamond and Vista

I uninstalled the device from the device manager, ran the registry cleaner in ccleaner, rebooted. I then attempted to get the drivers to install. It said done (yet, I never could click on install driver) Connected the phone. Vista then shows PocketPC Sync in device manager.

Start MObile device - not connected

It should show "Pocket PC USB Sync" in Device Manager, as mine does, and it sync's fine.

If it does, then it Looks like you might just have a bad phone.

Edit: You did say it sync's with XP. So, it definitely syncs just not with your Vista PC. After all you have done, it should be working. Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall Windows Mobile Device Center?

Re: Diamond and Vista

Just Thought of something!

When you open up Windows Mobile Device Center. There should be Connection Settings located right under where it says, "Mobile Device Settings". Click on that, and make sure that "Allow USB connections" and "Allow automatic device authentication" are both checked off, and then hit "OK".

Try that and let me know.

Re: Diamond and Vista

Uninstalled mobile device center, rebooted, then reinstalled. No luck

Stevedog1, I assume you are using Vista, when you have the phone connected what does windows device manager title the phone. Mine is Pocket PC Sync.

Also, just changed the phone to be a hard drive, and it shows up just fine in Vista, but not for "active sync"

Obviously, this computer knows what this phone is.
