custom TXT msg alert sounds help

Hi, I just have a question. Is it possible to change the tx msg alert noise with a custom file? Currently I tried to convert a an mp3 to WMA to use for my new alert. In case your curious on what alert im trying to make, its the monkey howl from the Disturbed song called Down with the sickness :P lol
I tried to convert the cut audio and place it in the ring folder in the system folder but when I went to change the notifaction sound it was not listed

Anyways ideas?
