How to backup SSPL?

Hi,

I want to unlock my phone so that I can flash custom ROM on it. I have a Bell HTC Diamond which comes with SPL version 0.61.0000. If I unlock my phone with the SPL found on at PPCGeeks (in the guide to unlock...), my phone will then be downgraded to version 57. Now, I believe that this is not a problem but the thing is that I want to keep a copy of my original SPL in case I need to return the phone.

My questions are:

1. Is there any tool that I could use to backup my SPL? I found this thread at xda but not sure if this also apply to CDMA phones.

2. Will I be able to flash backup my original SPL on the phone using the same or another tool?

Thanks in advance for your input.
