Re: Can A Telus phone be setup on MTS network?
littlerichie29 is correct in the legal sense...
It is very unfortunate that Bell and Telus will not allow CDMA phones from each others networks to be activated... I was very distressed to find this out in the late summer when I was considering purchasing a Telus Diamond to activate on Bell... <disclaimer> I do not condone illegal acts!!! </disclaimer> That being said it could still be mentioned (seeing as a search of this or other ppc forums will bring it up anyway) that you can clone an ESN from one cellphone to another (i.e. change the ESN on the Telus Diamond to one that is accepted on the MTS network). That would essentially accomplish the task the OP was asking about. But like I said there are laws, user agreements and who knows what else to dissuade you from doing that... Just thought it was worth mentioning to round out the conversation! FYI - Don't bother PMing me asking how because I haven't done it myself and don't have a checklist for you!
