Flashing erases internal storage everytime?

Ive only flashed once so far, but im kinda curious before i start piling up my internal storage with music or files..

When you flash to another rom, does the internal storage partition get deleted or formatted?

Me personally, i like to keep .cabs and backup stuff on my minisd cards, but since this is internal i have a feeling i'll have to recopy everything back on after every hard reset or flash.
Thats gotta be a PITA after a while.

So is there a certain method to keep this partition from being deleted or am i worrying about nothing?

When you flash the Internal will be untouched, nothing special has to be done

Does hard-resetting delete Internal memory?

HTC has a patch on their website for that problem, er so you can recover it. When I first bought my diamond it had no internal memory because the seller did a hard reset. That took me a couple of hours to figure out, but I had seen the patch so no big deal... They are gonna release the fix in their next rom update...

Re: Flashing erases internal storage everytime?

nope, hard reset doesn't touch the internal storage. Just the main memory.

Re: Flashing erases internal storage everytime?

You have 3 options when you do a "Clear Storage" from Start/Settings/System.

1. Clear storage only - hard reset
2. Format internal storage - wipes out everything in internal storage, no hard reset
3. Clear storage and format internal storage - hard reset and wipe everything in internal storage
