Under : DEFBROWSER I have no keys at all. Are you saying I should make new keys? DWORDs, string value? What should I be doing? Thanks in advance for the help!
I had the settings. If they don't exist, you want to add them, the following are the entries you need and the types:

0 Type:"String" Value:"Opera Browser"
1 Type:"String" Value:"\Windows\OperaL.exe"
2 Type:"DWORD" Value:"1" Base:"Decimal"
3 Type:"DWORD" Value:"0" Base:"Decimal"

Hope this helps

Re: Make Opera Mobile Default Browser

I cant find a .cab to make opera the default brower anywhere. Anyone know where one is or able to make one? The steps on post 6 work perfect but I flash so much its alot easier to have sashimi install a .cab then to remember what to edit in the registry each time I flash.

you have to edit these registry keys.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\: DEFBROWSER
"0"=Opera Browser
"1"=\Windows\OperaL.exe

that should do it for you.
I opened the registry editor and navigated to the DEFBROWSER and I held down the OperaL and clicked to edit. In the first line, grayed, was a "0". In the next line for MSPIE, there was a "1". But when I try to edit, it doesn't respond either to hitting back space to delete the values and it does not give an edit option when I hold stylus down on the value. Do you know what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks.

ya. you are trying to edit the value name. what you need to do is edit the value data.
ex: turn the one that has the 0 from \windows \operal.exe to opera browser. the one that says mspie and has a 1 you cant change, thats the one that needs to habe the value data renamed to \Windows\OperaL.exe.

I am trying to create these values for the : DEFBROWSER key since they do not exist, however I keep getting "Error Creating Value". I am using MemMaid to edit the reg. Any guesses as to why?

Only links in mail and txt msgs open up in IE, so I'm hoping this regedit does it.
