Re: DIY Black battery cover

Just dyed mine in black and came out great...threw away the small pot after using it for the process. It's an old pot I had for a year now. Don't think i'll do another color though..too messy

Re: DIY Black battery cover

Success100 I got that Gunmetal for ya. Some might notice that the vista green is gone. Thats bcuz i didnt really like the color and wanted to lighten it up to a regular green. I bought a box of the color remover, but be warned, it takes about an hour and a half to remove the color. AND it doesnt come off completely. Its very light and u can dye over it easily. Ill post the new green later.I bet most people havent noticed that i changed the blue by using the color remover and making it a lighter true blue as well. I just turn the heat on low and let it work while I watch the game or something. I stir it about every 15 minutes. Im sure the darkness of the original color affects the time as well. U know a shorter time for a lighter color. Anyway, I did Yellow and Gunmetal Gray. Check it out: Yellow, Orange, True Blue, Gunmetal Gray, Black, and Bright Green soon to come!

Re: DIY Black battery cover

I'm thinking I'm gonna try a few of the Sprint Stores I have nearby to see if I can score a spare cover or two. I want to do a Black one and a bright Orange one just for the heck of it.

I did a great orange so check out my earlier posts. Make sure to use a lighter orange like sunshine if u use Rit dye. That way the longer u dye it the richer the color will be be without being too dark like rust

Re: DIY Black battery cover

I've read the entire thread and as I understand it there has been no discoloration over time? What's the final verdict? This is a definite go?!?
