For the transferring of contacts did you ever try just taking it to a cell phone store? I work for sprint and we have a machine called celebrite that we hook up to the two phones to pull all the info from one and transfer it to the next.
And if your really paranoid about keeping too many programs open instead of checking the task manager ever few seconds there is a setting in the task manager program that closes programs when you press the X button in the corner. it saves a little time and battery life, |

Re: Questions from a n00b.
Thanks MOTO!! I just learned about the Celebrite today......will do that when I purchase - and how do I get to the task manager program? I like the idea of killing the program when I click the x! If a program needs to stay open, will it?
Thank you! PS Thanks Deadlygun for that great link......now what do I do with it? I'm assuming download it and open in? I sent it to myself via email and outlook won't allow me to open those things. I guess I have to long tap and say SAVE AS? Thanks!! |

Re: Questions from a n00b.
The program is already installed in the phone when it comes. All you would need to do is:
Start, Settings, touch the system tab at the bottom, select task manager, touch the button tab at the bottom, and then check the box that says "enable the 'x' button to end running programs" you can then choose whether you want them to close when you just tap the x or you can enable it to close by holding the x button. either way that you do it you can keep the program you were using in the background if you dont want to close it. instead of pressing the x to get back to the home screen you would just press the home key on the navigation pad. |

Re: Questions from a n00b.
Download the zip file to your phone (I usually email it to myself and use save as) locate where you saved it and open the zip file, you will see an exe file inside. Tap and hold on the file and a box will come up, choose extract and you will see a new screen. Scroll down to the windows folder and click on the + to open (it will take a few sec) then scroll down to the start menu folder and highlight, now click on extract on the bottom and you should be all set. You should now be able to click start on the top left at any time and then choose rotate screen or you can now assign it in buttons.
