LOCATION IS NOW OFF -- possible BUG

I have the setting in the phone location setting to "ON", but now, I noticed that the setting is now showing off. Does anyone else show this?
The only way I was able to not have it crossed out is to actually go into the setting and turn it off, then go back in and turn it back on.

Does anyone know why this turns off and this is the only way to get it back on?


(This is seen when you press PHONE, it will be next to the BACKSPACE ARROW button in the upper right corner of the screen under the top title bar showing the battery, signal strength, etc.).

What ROM are you running

I'm running stock sprint and i get it on my diamond and pro. I think it may have something to do with Quick GPS. I'm always getting warnings that it has expired and I need to update it. I think after I do that my location shows off, even though I have it set to on.

If it is not the quick GPS software, then i don't know what it is. But mine is always showing off on both phones.

mine also, but gps works with live search and google maps

Might just be a display glitch. Have you tried using the GPS to verify that it is really off like mbritt did?

noticed mine will vary, one minute visually on the next its off. maybe they made it turn off till you use it.

Not to sure about that, I have never used GPS on either phone yet, however i have both turned ON, and the phones still display it as OFF.

I don't think quick GPS has anything to do with it.

if your location is off then from what I have read in other manuals it will not display your gps location to sprint or your built in live search app. That I believe was out of a 700wx book, I think

Mine varies too. Sometimes it shows off sometimes on. But the GPS always works. But oddly enough if I go in and shut the location off the GPS will not work.

So I guess it's a glitch in the phone app retreiving the status.
