Wrong ESN(HEX)
I bought this handset from a friend of mine. I re programmed it for indian network ( TATA INDICOM). Everything was fine *228 was working. i went to their office to change the handset and gave them the esn (hex) no.
Their system replied with an error that you have entered a wrong esn number. they told me that esn which starts from digit 8 are not supported by our system. Can anyone please help me for the same? please help needed ASAP |
Re: Wrong ESN(HEX)
if the device is not from there network then they wont activate it.
should have asked them before you bought the device. nothing anyone can do to help you. |
Re: Wrong ESN(HEX)
well the company he speaks of could have a opened network and just not be compatible with MEID's (Which is what newer CDMA phones use)... try finding your pESN (diffrent from MEID and ESN) and giving them that...

Re: Wrong ESN(HEX)
i'm not sure if it's allowed to attach the file here or not.. but there is a small program that will convert MEID to pESN... anyways you can google MEID pESN converter and the first result is what you seek :D

Re: Wrong ESN(HEX)
No, pESN is not for network ID purposes, it's a legacy ID just for back end network services that doesn't support MEID system yet, like texting, and it's calculated using the MEID. What you have to do is ask if your network supports MEID in their system and enter the MEID instead of the pESN.
If you want to learn some more check this very good explanation on MEID/ESN/pESN---> http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1360767 |
