Re: Wrong ESN(HEX)

You could have the person find a phone that uses MEID like the new Motorola Razr V2 and have it say it is that phone. That is how I got is through on my carrier that doesn't carry my phone.

If you want to learn some more check this very good explanation on MEID/ESN/pESN---> http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1360767

I was told by my network provider that they dont support meid as of now....

but they can happily activate my number on this phone if i could find a way to give them the esn.

RE: actually the esn number showed by my phone starts from 8 and their system doesnt support an esn that starts with 8...

i wonder why is this problem occuring but its like that only..

today i went to their office and gave them checksum number that was also 8 digit number.. the touch which i am using right now stopped working and the diamond on which i need to activate the number was not working aswell..

due to which i again need to ask them to change the esn back to that of my touch..

Please everyone..... Know what i have paid huge amount for this thing but right now it is nothing apart from a brick in my pocket to me..

If you all could help me out i will be more than happy and would be thankful to you alot...

Regards

The only thing you can do is wait until your carrier supports MEID, as of now, pseudo ESN is a hash from MEID number, it will not be accepted by any system as a suscriber identifier for the simple reason that pESN are not unique numbers (that's why it's pESN, real ESNs are unique and not repeatable).
Read the post I put a link to two or three posts ago, MEID is the current sucriber ID method and will eventually replace the ESN system in all carriers. Just a matter of time.

As a tip: Sometimes carriers DO support MEID, it's just that customer reps have no idea of what MEID is, so they just say no. What I did the frist time I encountered this issue was to go ask them to try and enter the MEID, no matter what the customer rep said, they tried and the system accpeted it.

Went to the office again in evening... Bought a new prepaid connection. And there is a handset change card available for the prepaid customer (called as insta change card). and finally got it activated as prepaid number but unfortunately this card is not available for postpaid customer like me....

I wonder why is this thing happening...

I am really pissed off now...
