i agree...why couldnt HTC simply make the volume rocker act as a silencer for the ringer. is it possible to make a hack for that??

Thank you... Thats exactly what I am saying... That would be awesome if someone knows/could figure out how to do this. It doesnt even necessarily have to the be the volume but on the side, even though that would be great, but just some button that can be hit and quit the ring immediately.

I would also like to silence my notifications (text, email, alarm) by pressing the volume rocker while they are playing. It does that with incoming calls, if I press the volume rocker while it is ringing. The sound is silenced or muted. Other notifications, they continue to play until the end of the ring is complete. TIA for any help.

Re: turning off text ringer

I think this may make the sound of the alerts (text, email, voicemail, etc) while you are on a call softer. With this, I can still hear the conversation very well. However, I do not talk on the phone a lot so the alerts while in a call was not an issue for me so I am not sure if this has helped or not. Please try it and let me know.

This is the best way that I have found to silence/mute a text/email/etc alert quickly using the volume rocker as the end key.
