Spint Diamond. Telus Back. BSE - **PICS**

Well, I've been using the BSE for about 5 days now. I installed it by-the-book. Everything went on cleanly. When I initially put it on the screen was noticeable jacked up. It was all "rainbow-tized" as if the pixels were magnified...probably because its significantly thick. I was unable to capture this with any pics I took. It also adds a somewhat squishy/cushioned/gel feel to the screen. It definitely feels like a one of those window stickers that clings on by static electricity. Finger gestures become easier the more you use it but it never feels as smooth as the stock screen protector. Also it will ALWAYS grip your fingernail as if it were a tire...that never improved. Today, I cleaned it with some alcohol and all the scratches accumulated over the week instantly showed up. I'm guessing the more you use it the more the oils on your finger "repair" it...the alcohol cleaned it all off. I guess thats why its advertised as having a "memory". Fingerprints were never an issue. It just feels like it would be more suited for Nextel rugged-like phones. I put my phone through some abuse so I'll stick it out til its served its purpose then I'm going back to the stock sceen protector. I did, however; install BSE over the top & bottom & over the strip on the back. I take the back off when I take pictures anyway...don't care if it gets in the way. It really adds a nice cushion to those high-taffic spots on the phone. I left the back off because I prefer the soft touch feel. Besides, I may cut up the BSE main back protector to make some strips for the frame or even just the 4 corners...since that is the only part BSE neglected to provide protector for. I elected not to install BSE over the hard keys because they are capacitive...so why would I want anything to muddle up the touch sensitivity?

Overall, if you don't mind sacrificing some screen clarity for top-of-the-line protection then get BSE.

This is the best pic I could get to clearly illustrate how much abuse its taken as how thick it is.

I just applied the BSE strip portion 15 min before this picture. You can see the tiny air bubbles. Same thing happened on the main screen but on a much larger scale. It went away after a couple days.

Today Screen (for good measure )

I'm using Glossy Bars with some custom icons for the start icon, battery & volume. Check the "Post Your Today Screen" sticky. I posted a link to the thread on XDA that shows you how to change them. Here are my Start Icon, Battery Ion & Volume Icon.

The shellres.192 file is the Start Icon. Copy it into \Windows and soft reset.

HTCVolumeControl is obviously the volume icon. It does not support VGA for your volume slider. The slider remains the same size & still works but the font and tab to toggle between System & Ringer will be tiny. Really not that big of a deal. Copy into \Windows and soft reset.

For the battery icon, the .zip contains the edited phcanOverbmp.dll but Total Commander will not let you overwrite this file. So you must rename your current .dll to another name (I justed added "12" to the end). Then you can copy this file into \Windows and soft reset.

Almost forgot, you need to install the sdkcerts.cab from this thread so your phone will recognized the modified icons.

Then you need the CDMA 1% drivers to diplay percentages in 1% increments.

(Do yourself a favor and download the nuePower CPL as well)
