Re: Weather Update Connection Error?
As long as I keep the cab installed, the weather updates work. But if I uninstall the cab, all bets are off and I am back to errortown, usa.

Re: Weather Update Connection Error?
See my post above jt's. It works. The reason uninstalling broke the weather updates is because the Key that was needed was removed. If you rename the Key, the app uninstall cannot remove the Key. Then just name the Key back to what it was.

Re: Weather Update Connection Error?
The error is due to Accuweather changing something on their server (which is where htc gets their weather data from). Weather was working fine yesterday, but is broken now. Sprint/HTC/Accuweather are aware of the issue and are working on it. It is not a problem with your phone, don't try installing .cabs and such and such, the only thing the cabs would do is possibly change what weather server is used. Just wait for a fix

Re: Weather Update Connection Error?
It works on my Touch Pro after doing the Weather Database Editor. I need it anyway to get my local weather.

The cab works because that editor changes your file to get weather from a 3rd party server |

Mine: WeatherServerURLOverride (string) value: http://weather.not2advanced.com/ Cab version: WeatherServerURLOverride (string) value: http://weather.not2advanced.com/htcweather/ Thanks for following up on it with me. I removed the cab installation and recreated the new registry entry myself with the correct value and it works. |

Re: Weather Update Connection Error?
Agreed, but it gets the weather working. And if you read my last post in this thread, it will tell you exactly how to do it. Once Accuweather gets their crap together, I can rename the registry key and it will use Accuweather again. And if they ever screw the pooch again, I can always rename my registry key back and have it working ASAP.
