Passive Antenna Repeater really works?

We live in a really bad reception area and I was thinking that maybe a a good passive antenna repeater could help me.

Does the passive antenna really works? If so, where can I get a good one?

Thanks
Diego

Sprint carries one, they offered it to me to stay with Sprint with a 1 year contract.

I'm not sure if it works like a passive antenna but like hoch said Sprint offers one and it's called Airave. There's a monthly subscription fee of 4.99/month for enhanced coverage. They also have additional subscription fees to get unlimited voice calling in the area the airave covers.

Re: Passive Antenna Repeater really works?

My friend has Alltel for a provider. He had terrible reception at his house. His nephew installed a repeater in his house. his nephew had a meter that showed the signal strength 1-100. Without the repeater the meter read 30-38. With the repeater the meter read 70-80. I could not get a data conection without the repeater. With the repeater I had good data speeds.

If you have terrible reception call sprint let them know. They offered the airave to me for free no monthly fees TOTALLY free. Just be sure to go through customer renentions.

I have the Airave and it DOES work. I live in an area with 1 to 0 bars...with the airave connected to my high speed internet, I get all bars.....Did you know that there are actually 6 bars on that power meter?

Re: Passive Antenna Repeater really works?

The Airave works really well. (If you do a fast/huge download while talking on the phone the call quality will be affected, but then again that is your own fault for using up all the bandwidth.)
