nytimes.com started working properly after clearing it and restarting opera.

First visit to nytimes showed a fullscreen advertisement for Dell, so you know you're not missing the desktop experience!

Re: is there a way to NOT default to wap pages?

Clearing out UA Proof URL worked!!!! Wow i thought i was never going to get this to work?

Has anyone else had problem viewing webmail now? Was opera set as your browser default browser for this. My TP goes to Opera when I click on internet tab but if i click an url from text/email it uses MIE so dont know if I will be effected. Am i total in the wrong direciton with this and your reffering to an web based email (i think you are but want to make sure)?

Re: is there a way to NOT default to wap pages?

I could not find a way to view full web sites either. The posted tweaks did not work for me. But what I found out was:

1. When in Opera browser, go to the menu on the right lower corner, and under display options uncheck mobile. (It may be unchecked by default, I do not remember).

2. Under the Custom User Agent I simply changed Windows CE to Windows XP. I only replaced CE to XP. without changing anything else.

Now, it seems to work fine. I have not checked many sites, but the few ones I use often go directly to the full version.

Let me know if this works for you.

Cheers

Re: is there a way to NOT default to wap pages?

For those who cannot get the pref changes to work or do not want to make those types of mods you can use: http://www.guardster.com/subscription/proxy_free.php

I use it for opera mini when I want to see a non mobile site like CNN. I have it saved as a bookmark. Just tick off "hide user agent" and enter the website. It is a little slower but it works without mods.

Re: is there a way to NOT default to wap pages?

has anyone tested any of these methods recently to see if they still work? ive tried clearing the UAProof url and changing the user agreement. soft reset after every option and double checking that it saved. the only site that i am really trying to get to show in full is myspace, and neither of these options have helped me =/
