Re: Will This car charger work?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I didn't see a point in creating a new one. Been meaning to pickup a USB car charger. I've ordered generic ones in the past and they've always died within a couple months. So, I think I'll spend the big bucks and buy this Belkin one. Should be fine, right? Anyone already have one?

Re: Will This car charger work?

Its honestly draw of luck on these chargers...

I found one for an IPOD 1st GEN charger in the clearance bin for 99cents, and I've been using it for over a year now for my Diamond, NDS, etc...

try www.dealextreme.com

I think they have some for about 2-3 dollars and come with free shipping. I'd order like 3-4 of them. When one dies chuck it and us a new one.

Chances are these chargers are pretty much the same, and belkin slapped their name on it, so they charge more.

But to answer your question, ANY charges that fits into the cigarette lighter, and has a USB on the other end will pretty much work on any Diamond.

Re: Will This car charger work?

thanks for the feedback. i guess the reason i'm a bit unsure is that i had tried to charge my old ZEN using one of those car usb chargers, and it wouldn't charge. not sure why. maybe the mah wasn't high enough. i checked out dealxtreme. seems like a good site to do exactly what you described. namely buy a bunch cause they're so cheap. but... the few i checked out only cranked out between 400mah and 500mah. i think our standard charger is 1000 mah. so long as it charges, i guess that's fine.

anyway, thanks again!

Some phones have special circuitry so that you HAVE to use their chargers, and example of this is Motorola...

Their phones have a USB port, but if you use one of those adapters or plug it into your PC it wont charge... But it WILL charge if you get THEIR usb charger, or if you buy MobilePhoneTools to get the driver...
