Issue with the lower d-pad & 4 buttons?

Anyone been having issues with the sides of the D-pad not reacting right? I seen the threads about the left D-pad not working right, I have the same issue in some apps but not in all. Anyways this is about the Home Talk End Back button area, when I press then I have to repress because it thinks I am actually pressing the D-pad instead, even if I press on the outter edged, I have to slow down and really look where I press to get it to work right "some times"..

Reason I am posting this is I am on my SECOND Diamond already, the firt one had similar issue but what got to me was the right side next to the Dpad start lifting off as if peeling or becoming unstuck... I could never end calls right..

Now the problem is worse on a 2nd NEW phone (not a refurb) where the home, send end and back don't recognize it's being touched..

Anyone else?

P.S. I am within my 30 days they tell me to take it to the store to get it fixed or replaced.. I think I am just gonna return it...

I've had no issues with mine, but you obviously do not have my phone. I would get it replaced if you are having issues. Do not put up with hardware problems on a new phone.

Re: Issue with the lower d-pad & 4 buttons?

I have the same problem you have clockcycle. Bought mine on ebay, so no returning it. All 4 of my buttons are almost impossible to press. I do have TEP with Sprint, so I will have them replace this phone when I get confirmation that the issue has been resolved.

That sucks, I feel for you guys. Mine work fine on my Diamond but my send button went out on my Mogul before and I remember how frustrated I was about it.

I had same issue until I found out that the left and right D-pad is simulated to the other button. As long as you press right with out your thumb on top of the back or end light key.

Re: Issue with the lower d-pad & 4 buttons?

When I'm on my contacts tab, if I have a contact selected and I press the Call button to make a call, it will sometimes hit the Home button instead. This, despite me pressing all the way at the bottom of the button sometimes, so I know there's no way I'm pressing the Home button by accident.
