Re: Something is draining my battery

I've had no issues with gyrator and my battery on the Stock Sprint Rom. Maybe its something with custom ROMs and gyrator?

Re: Something is draining my battery

Well this battery, as the phone is set up out of the box from sprint sucks. I like this forum and am learning a lot, but an average phone buyer should not be dependent on forums and alternative programs or roms to get at least a eight hours out of their battery, and I have net been a heavy user.

I agree, to a point. But in all honesty, I believe this phone is for tweakers and modders... and for that you have to have a forum. And without this great forum, most of us would be pretty pissed off most of the time...

the phone sends out around the clock a beacon single for ur location, not even tied into the gps what so ever...

after shutting it off i got more life outta the battery...

just a thought...
How is this feature turned off? I don't use GPS.

Have you drained the battery completely and gave it a full charge? I ran it a week without doing so and I'd charge before sleep to wake up with the battery around 65%. After doing a complete discharge and fully charging the battery, I woke up to the battery being at 95%.

Try that and see if it helps. I think I hit the last 10% of my battery at around 3pm (before fully discharging). I tried everything to kill it (over an hour of talk time, youtube for an hour, games, texting, etc.) and the battery didn't die until around 10pm. It finally shut itself down and after charging it last night, I'm still on a full battery icon (around 95%).

Remember, the North American Diamonds got an upgraded 1340mAh battery. Our European counterparts only got the 900mAh battery. I think someone forgot to adjust and it's just giving us a bad reading from the start.

Re: Something is draining my battery

Again, all GPS apps (googlemaps, garmin, etc.) will not work with this turned off.

To turn this off, settings>personal>phone>services>location setting... Hit "get settings" and poke the "off".

Maybe this should be a good tweak to the communications manager to include an easy slider... hmmm...

Thanks!

Yeah, that would be a great addition to the communications manager!

Re: Something is draining my battery

For me, I can use the Diamond for internet, youtbue, sprint TV, and lots of MP3 (like 5+ hours straight) and still manage to have the thing last 12 hours on a full charge.

but then I go into buildings where I keep switching from EVDO to 1XRT, and that;s when my battery life plummets like a rock. I can barely hold a 4-5 hour charge when I'm on bad reception. Personally, I think the CDMA radio should be fixed so its not so aggressive when its polling for a signal...
