Wireless Lan

Ok here goes maybe stupid question but won't know unless I ask.. OK as teh topic says wireless lan I take it that it can be used with a wireless network or wifi so it does not actually use the data plan that comes with the package we have with provider. So does that mean we can view and download anything at all we want without it registering with in my case telus? I have unlimited data and stuff but have read alot fo horour stories about people getting charged for excessive use.. Also if this is how it works is there a way to get a better signal quality I can sit right beside me wireless router and not even get 1/2 quality. and sit at my laptop with my phone and laptop gets full excellent signal. is there a way to boost the signal quality.. I am running jucey 2.4.1 is that helps. Thanks for any info I can get on this topic..

Re: Wireless Lan

I do not know about charges. From what I can tell when i have a wifi signal connected on my phone i lose my ev (sprint) in it shows wifi on the top. And if I try to connect to like sprint tv it wont let me. So I would guess they cant view your data usage while on wifi. But like I said I do not know this, just my thought.

Also, on my phone the wifi can be reached from all around my house and also all around my office(nether one huge places), I have not really tested signal stregthen or anything, but I defently don't have to sit next to the router.

I am running sprint stock rom.

Re: Wireless Lan

Your provider won't know and shouldn't care what you do on WiFi. As long as you ensure that your cellular data connection is off, you should be safe.

I also tend to get a low signal on WiFi, unless I'm right next to the router. I believe my hand blocks the signal a bit. But as far as I can tell, it hasn't affected the link quality. I can still use WiFi throughout my home.

Re: Wireless Lan

What the wifi means, is that you can download files, email, and browse the web like you would from any computer. Sprint TV is a carrier based service, so if you are using WIFI the Sprint TV will not work. IF you turn your Sprint internet back on, you will then be able to use Sprint TV but if you do not have an internet package set up you will be charged at 3 cents a kilobyte, not much if you do not browse long...but the charges will rack up quickly.
