Tethering and using the GPS on a laptop?

This has probably been asked many times but I wasn't even sure what to search for. I was curious if anyone has tethered their Diamond to a laptop and somehow used the GPS with a mapping program on the PC? I'm not sure if I'll use this but I'm curious if it can be done and if you do use this - to what advantage? I would imagine the large screen would be much easier to view but I was curious if you get voice notifications and other things that are helpful?

Thanks

I don't know about tethering your GPS thru USB to a laptop, but, there's always bluetooth. I have tethered my internet with my desktop and a friends laptop with my Diamond but, if you want speaking software your most likely going to have to pay for that. I know Delorme makes a bluetooth GPS, that you can pair with your PPC and use on a laptop. It'd probably run you about $80, they make pretty decent software.

Re: Tethering and using the GPS on a laptop?

Just a quick question about tethering.... Is Internet Connection Sharing part of the Juicy ROMs the safest way to tether without Telus finding out? Or should I use other applications such as pdaNet or WMWifi Router?

I'm on Sprint, I have the stock rom and I used the registry fix. I am sure it's the same though, so you should be all gravy.
