got a replacement diamond but the old one still has active data

I just got my replacement diamond because I was having troubles with the end button on my original diamond (which the new diamond fixed btw). anyway, i activated my new diamond online but for some reason i still have an active data connection on the old diamond. my new diamond can make calls and can receive data. the old diamond cannot make calls but is still getting my emails and i can surf the web and watch youtube. is this common? and no i am not connected to wi-fi. just curious as to if this has happened to anyone else.

This is a common occurrence.

They usually tell you to turn the old phone off for at least 24 hours after the ESN swap. I think they mention that somewhere online, but I know they tell you that when you do it over the phone.

Re: got a replacement diamond but the old one still has active data

you're gonna need to reprogram the phone completely. turn the old phone off, take the battery out, then program your phone. i'm a sprint rep and this happens when the old phone is powered on during programing. try ##DATA# but you're going to need your MSL and try resetting the data. hope this helps

Re: got a replacement diamond but the old one still has active data

You have to turn both devices off for a while, then only turn on your new one. You may have to run the "profiling" again..

If you leave both devices on, your old device will still be authenticated on their towers until you turn it off..
