Re: Texts from 9016 ?
Its a voice text message system. Its like sending a voicemail without having to actually wait for the phone to ring. Although it should give an actual number to call, then you have to enter the number of the phone that it was sent from i think.

Try calling 1 408 970-0000, that's the system access number. It's supposed to unsubscribe you from receiving Voice SMS, and send you a link, but it didn't work in my case. The problem with that is that is a Visual Voice Mail notification? Did y'all used to have the Instinct? I had this problem up until, the person I sold my Instinct to, activated it with his own number. Sprint didn't seem to have a clue how to fix this when I called them about it. I did notice, when I powered the Instinct off, the notifications stopped. But, soon as I turned it back on to get some old numbers off it, they started coming again (usually delivered every 2 hours). Hope this helps |

Re: Texts from 9016 ?
stebOne,
Thank you for posting that number. I gave that a try. We will see if it works. And yes I switched from the Instink. For me I know that the old phone is off, but I still get these damn messages every 2 hours. I have a ticket open with Sprint. |

Re: Texts from 9016 ?
Goto sprints buzzaboutwireless.com (forums) and goto windows smartphone thread for more details. It seems this happenes when you set up your email account. It is a glitch but all you have to do is block that # from sending you text msg's. Like sprint.....i signed in on sprint.com, went to texting options which gives you the option to block any #. I blocked 9016 and I haven't received ANY text from any 90xx # since. I hope this helps yall!

Re: Texts from 9016 ?
The message you are getting is because you switched from a phone using visual voicemail (like the instinct) to something which uses the standard voicemail set up. There are a couple of things to do. You can use sprint.com to block the messages under the text messaging settings. you can also call sprint and have them put a block on thrid party texting services. Also try reconfiguring your voicemail settings. Let me know if this helps at all guys Thanks
