Yes, it will work. It will probably just take a really long time. |

Re: Garmin Mobile XP on Sprint Diamond
after hard reset, I checked and found that the hacked IP/Port numbers remain in the phone. hard reset does not set these numbers back to factory default.
is it possible to set it back to default? in case I need to return the phone, for example. |

Re: Garmin Mobile XP on Sprint Diamond
sigh.
Hard reset only resets the operating system on your phone. When you use QPST, you're programming the chip in the phone to use those setting. All you have to do to set them back to default, is change them yourself. If you need to return the phone, who cares? Sprint's never going to check that you enabled the GPS. And yes, these 'hacks' enable and set the Assisted-GPS, allowing your data connection to download data pertaining to the approximate location of satellites, allowing you to quickly lock on to them. |

the last paragraph is so much helpful. that was exactly what I have been looking for to understand the purpose of "configure GPS" thread. one more question: so by default, sprint disables this aGPS, and they use the main GPS chip for sprint navigator which takes longer seeking sattelite. the "configure GPS" enable aGPS to ASSIST the main GPS chip to lock on sattelite faster, by dowloading SAT locations using 3G connection? is that right? |

Re: Garmin Mobile XP on Sprint Diamond
you dont need to "unlock" anything just install it and use it i think they have to do that in canada but you don't need to do it on the sprint version..

Re: Garmin Mobile XP on Sprint Diamond
Garmin Mobile XT worked fine for me out of the box. No hacks. Takes 5 to 15 secs to get a fix, depending on how far I am from last fix. e.g. yesterday, few from Indiana to Texas; 15 secs or so to get a fix.
