My question is when you reply does it use your mail2web address or the address the mail was forwarded from? I really don't want to have to setup another email address if that's the case.

Re: How to get push mail working?

The reply would be from the mail2web email, though they may give you the opportunity to change your reply to address in their settings, so that when others get your email and reply to yours, it would actually go to your GMail account first, then be forwarded to your mail2web address and then pushed to your device.

It might be worth a few minutes to setup and test for yourself...

Re: How to get push mail working?

I think I found one way to resolve the issue. I just changed the settings to receive messages as they arrive for Windows Live. Now my push mail for Hotmail is working but its a bit slow. I get the email after 10-15 min. I'm running Juicy Rom 2.1 on Telus HTC Diamond so I manually installed the Telus Mail Application and called in to get my phone activated for email service even though I already have a unlimited IM,web and email data package. So basically the Telus software just sets up your profile on the telus mail server which stays connected to your mail service such as gmail 24/7. When ever you get a new email the Telus server gets the data from your email and pushses it to your phone. The techincal support agent told me the very first time you set this up it might take about 20-40 mins to get your first push working. He also said that the mail client keeps tracks of how often you get new messages and slowly the time delays keeps decreasing and after using it for a week or so it will become almost instant push mail. Also remember you must setup Gmail for POP access before setting up the telus client. I have been playing around with it for a while now. I usually get the mail pushed down to my phone withing 5-10 mins of receving it. Lets see if this performance improves over time.

Re: How to get push mail working?

Here is another option that I am using with my Telus Diamond and gmail. Works good but the program is still in development. you loose your settings after soft reset and have to enter your username and password info, but if you do not reseta lot this may work for you. I like that it integrates with poutlook and you see the messages count etc. in TF3D screen.

Hopefully the developer will continue with its development.

Re: How to get push mail working?

The application has just been updated in that it will save all your settings. I just set up a shortcut in windows to launch on startup. Works awesome, though I do not know how much of a drain on battery life it will cause yet.

Re: How to get push mail working?

Thanks for that, I had just checked it yesterday when I posted the link, this is awesome that I do not need to enter all the info. I charge mine every night and the phone lasts me from 6:15AM to around 11:30PM. I havent seen any significant battery drain with this. Will see if anything changes with 0.6 version

Re: How to get push mail working?

If you're familiar with linux, Zimbria just open-sourced their collaboration suite, which includes exchange functionality.

Anyone know if Zimbra exchange ota works with the Sprint Diamond. Excuse me if this is a stupid question, have not used exchange before. I have access to use Zimbra for syncing ota but I have to figure it out myself if I want it.

Re: How to get push mail working?

I get my emails almost instantaneously from my gmail and it's set to update every 5mins. Maybe it's a coincidence though.
