Soft Reset app. No more removing battery cover to soft reset.

i didn't see it posted here so i figured i would share.

what is it=
this is ap app that will allow you to softreset your device without removing the battery cover. since the diamond doesn't have a reset hole on the outside of the device, i figured many would like this.

how to use =
download the zip file below. unzip it and you will find the cab file. put it on your device and run it to install the app. then you will see a icon in you program list that says "reset". once you select it, it will ask if you want to reset device. select and device does softreset.

hope someone likes it, Cody

What's the point of this when you can just hold the power button to soft reset?

Re: Soft Reset app. No more removing battery cover to soft reset.

Holding the power button is not a soft reset, it truely powers down the phone to OFF.

You then have to wait 5 to 20 seconds from what I understand, before you can press the power button to turn it back on.

Your can true hardware button soft reset by doing the following:

Hold down BOTH volume keys and then HOLD the power button for almost 5 seconds, the phone will do a TRUE soft reset.

Didn't know about the power button trick... never hurts to have options.

Ummm... holding the power button doesn't reset? It does do what every other power button does though. I think armorforsleep meant that turning your phone off and then on again is the same without wasting space for a reset app.

Re: Soft Reset app. No more removing battery cover to soft reset.

Sweet, was looking for something simple, having trouble finding it. This seemed to work great on my Treo 800w.

Do you know of anything that will actually power the phone all the way off, without it coming back on? i.e. for travel when you know you're not going to be using the phone and want to preserve the battery. Currently you can hold the power button and turn off the phone/data, but the power never actually shuts completely off. Thanks!

Holding the power button and hitting "yes" does indeed shut the phone completely off...yours is haunted.

Re: Soft Reset app. No more removing battery cover to soft reset.

the reset app is super small. the reset app is a few seconds faster IMHO than doing what was mentioned above.

people may not want it, and some might. i just wanted to share. gezzz. lol.
