I've played with the registry entries as well, the backlight dimming works, but we can't seem to get it to turn off once it's placed to your ear.

Yeah, and there's registry settings to support it. It works on the GSM ROMs from what I hear, but we haven't figured it out yet.

I have a theory...
Besides the light sensor being covered by your ear during a call to shut off the backlight, what if the intent was to be iPhone-like...to prevent your face from accidentally touching a button on the screen, maybe cheaper than the proximity sensor? Of course, I tried covering it, but was still able to end a call! Any thoughts? Could this be enabled? |
