Re: Tethering Fix Right Here!

I just manually made the changes mentioned at the beginning of this post to the registry on the Mogul and I no longer receive the Error code 67.

Since I did not install the cab file I had manually entered Sprint PCS and it works fine.

I also disabled the NAI and the profile check as mentioned in other posts regarding tethering.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\WMODEM
Checkprofile 0
Multi-NAI 0

Another great post on PPCGEEKS..

Scanned through some of the pages but didn't see, so forgive me if it was posted in the thread; but will this cab work for the Mogul as well?

Mr.Monkee, Please tell the forum which phone, carrier, cab you used, operating system and method you used to connect to the internet with what software etc.. You must be missing a step as I have used both cabs with and without backlight tweak on a Sprint Diamond and on a Sprint Pro with no issues. =D> So I know we can help you figure out how to tether.:headbang:

oh man sorry for the late reply but here is my problem:

I can connect with BT just fine but with the USB connection nothing happens except that there is a NDIS connection that is created but it gives me no internet connection. I used the backlight and the non back light cab and it was the same thing for both. I have also tried to get it to work on 32-bit and 64-bit Vista. Is there anyway that I can just reverse the settings of the cab and start from there? Maybe I didnt even need the cab as some users have reported.

Thanks for the help.

Btw, I was able to tether through USB with PDANet but it drained the heck out of my battery and the charge couldnt keep up. Maybe PDANet jacked something up, who knows...

Here is a pic of what I am talking about, the 2nd connection called "Local Area Connection 3" Remote RNDIS...:

well, if u use the internet alot on ur fone, then no....but for an example...if u "average" on GB or less a month, then consecutively spike up to 3-4 GB month after month, then mayb.....ALSO, its according to which username ur fone uses...if ur tethering fix uses the original username to get on the internet, then u should b fine, but if the fone forces u to use a phone as modem username without a phone as modem plan..u can get chopped n screwed....

well, if any1 else is having a tethering issue(ICS stuff an all that)..u cud use this cab file i found on here(don't know from whom, was :drunken:, so what can i say...however, i did hit da thanx button on whoever it was that posted it, thx)..it lets u PAM, with ur regular username instead of a PAM username..i still use it on my fone to this day

addition: after installing, soft reset(for the hell of it) it gets stored under file explorer/windows

Wait..
I don't really get it.
What does this fix actually do?
I can connect to the internet with my laptop connected to my phone just fine, but do I get charged extra for doing that?
